Whims of a Child
are always fleeting
insatiable
an endless playground
a perpetual carnival
those who tend to them
will be ravaged to the bone
their lives
Venetian glass shattered
by the very object they nurse
the child oblivious
to the desolation incurred
and indifferent
unless it’s flow of milk and honey
is impaired- and then
will try to mend whatever
hostilities have been earned
it’s greedy fists never
grabbing quite enough
to satisfy
are always fleeting
insatiable
an endless playground
a perpetual carnival
those who tend to them
will be ravaged to the bone
their lives
Venetian glass shattered
by the very object they nurse
the child oblivious
to the desolation incurred
and indifferent
unless it’s flow of milk and honey
is impaired- and then
will try to mend whatever
hostilities have been earned
it’s greedy fists never
grabbing quite enough
to satisfy
